Takeoff archaeological photography
Three-dimensional mapping of excavations, detailed recording of archaeological sites, access to inaccessible or dangerous places that are impossible to reach … are just a few examples demonstrating how dramatically drones have changed archaeological photography and archaeological research forever.

Fast, functional, inexpensive, and highly accurate in mapping, drones accelerate excavation activities, pave the way for new excavation sites, and provide the ideal tool for documenting deep interiors of large monuments.

Custom-made drone
Photographing archaeological sites and monuments often requires the combination of exceptional photographic requirements with a perfectly controlled and safe flight. For this reason, I designed and built a custom-made heavy-duty octocopter, capable of mounting and operating medium format cameras weighing more than 5 kg. At the same time, it receives flight instructions and coordinates from a computer for complete flight and capture accuracy.
